怎么帮助你的孩子更好学习英文?

你一定要知道五个二语系的阶段,这样的话你就不会迷茫。

上一个视频我跟大家分享了前三个没看到的家长建议去看。

今天我们说最后两个。

So Stage 4 Intermediate FluencyIt takes at least 3-5 years and students who reach this stage can freely communicate with foreigners on a wide range of topics.

They still make mistakes but at this stage it doesn't affect communication.

Some students also join speech and debate clubs.

Those who reach this level are usually grades 4, 5 or junior high students at international schools.

One of the textbooks that I recommend at this level is Cambridge Unlocked.

It's a good choice for students who want to study abroad as it covers a wide range of topics and is quite academically rigorous.

And finally Stage 5 Advanced FluencyProficient users with near native level of speaking.

If your kid is at this stage, congratulations!

It takes 5-7 years of giving the environment and the right tools.

And then it might take another 10 years to achieve full mastery of English with all its complexities and nuances.

Students don't need textbooks but what they do need is using the language.

Every day.

They need opportunities to engage in discussions and express themselves in English to maintain their fluency in it.

As you can see, learning a second language is pretty much a lifelong journey.

The key to mastering English is consistency and practice, especially across different content areas such as history or social studies.
